Cloning a Dashboard
Cloning makes a complete copy of a dashboard — its tiles, their display types and the layout — as a new, independent dashboard. It's the fastest way to reuse a proven design.
When to clone
- Template a layout you like and adapt the copy for a new audience.
- Experiment safely — try changes on the clone while the original keeps serving stakeholders.
- Spin up variants — for example a per-region copy of the same report.
What gets copied
The clone reproduces the dashboard's tiles, their chosen display (table, cards or chart) and its arrangement. The copy is fully independent: editing it never affects the original, and its sharing settings start fresh.
After cloning
Rename the clone, adjust which queries its tiles use, tweak the layout, and set up its own sharing. When you're happy, share or hand it off.
Tips
- Build a polished master dashboard and clone it whenever you need a similar report.
- Repoint cloned tiles to different queries to turn one layout into many reports.
