Groups Overview
A group is your workspace in Kvery. Every connection, query, dashboard, and setting belongs to exactly one group. You can be a member of several groups and switch between them at any time.
What a group owns
- Database connections — credentials for the databases the group can query.
- Members and permissions — who can access the group and what they can do.
- Queries — all saved SQL queries in the workspace.
- Dashboards — visual layouts built from query results.
- Snippets — reusable SQL fragments shared across the group.
- Tags — labels for organising queries and members.
- Settings — group name, thresholds, rate limits, IP whitelist, and log retention.
Creating and switching groups
When you sign up, Kvery creates your first group automatically. To create more, use the group creation action in the app. To move between groups, open the group switcher and select the one you want; Kvery remembers your last active group.
You can also exit a group you were invited to if you no longer need access.
Group settings at a glance
The following pages cover each part of a group's configuration:
- Database connections — add and secure database access.
- Members and permissions — invite people and control what they can manage.
- Tags — colour-coded labels for queries and members.
- Snippets — reusable SQL building blocks.
- Thresholds and rate limits — protect your databases from slow or excessive queries.
- IP whitelist — restrict access to known networks.
- Logs — review query activity and troubleshoot errors.
Renaming or deleting a group
You can rename a group from its general settings. Deleting a group removes the group and everything it owns — connections, queries, and dashboards — so do this with care. Only members with sufficient permission can delete a group.
